Software Product Managers often have a tough job.  They are the critical interface between external market opportunities and internal organizational units. They are also often “mini CEOs” responsible for managing the software business model with the objective of achieving sustainable success over the life cycle of a company’s products.

Excellence in Software Product Management (SPM) is a key success factor for companies that deliver software intensive products, packaged software, or services based on software and IT.

Because excellence in Software Product Management is critical to a software’s ultimate success, the International Software Product Management Association, or ISPMA, was formed. Through the ISPMA, Software Product Managers can obtain ISPMA certification which designates that a professional has demonstrated competencies in the management of software products, software as a service (SaaS), and software solutions that are maintained beyond a single development project.  Certification is based on the SPM Body of Knowledge (known as the SPMBOK) and the ISPMA syllabi. The ISPMA syllabi was developed in coordination with industry and academia.

In coordination with the ISPMA, TBK Consult via TBK Academy is offering a 3-day foundation-level training workshop for Software Product Managers which gives them  the tools they need to make a positive impact on the company’s bottom line and reduce job stress.

The training provides a full review of the discipline of product management for software products including the management of software parts of software-intensive products, i.e. systems and services.

At the end of the training attendees are offered the opportunity to take the ISPMA certification test. The test is performed as a written examination and is facilitated by the International Software Quality Institute. Successful certification is rewarded with a 12-month membership in the ISPMA.

The ISPMA training is also an excellent opportunity to build a personal peer network with other software products managers from around the world.
