The DuMont Media Group acquires 36.5% of censhare AG
The DuMont Media Group invests in the Munich-based censhare AG, a technology-leading provider of marketing cloud services, and in a first step assumes 36.5 percent of the shares.
Founded in 2001, censhare is already recognized by industry analysts as a significant vendor in the European software market, having gained an impressive portfolio of close to 200 clients, that includes Ikea, Deutsche Bank, Jaguar Land Rover, McDonald‘s, Swiss Re, Deutsche Post, Rewe, Migros, GoPro and Kohl‘s. Based on innovative semantic technology, censhare is considered the ‘go to’ vendor for efficiently delivering relevant, multi-channel, multi-language customer experiences with its no-silo content platform.
Censhare, with around 200 employees, has offices in the UK, USA, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and India.
“It has always been part of the DNA of the DuMont media group to offer innovative communication and marketing solutions. With its holistic “Digital Experience Platform” censhare is the ideal basis for companies to control marketing and communication intelligently and data-driven from a single source. Personally, I am looking forward to working with the founders and their team, “said Patrick Wölke, Managing Director of DuMont Digital.
The three founders – Dieter Reichert (CEO), Robert Motzke (CPO), Walter Bauer (CTO) – will continue to lead the company, while Stephan Wehselau (CFO) will join the board of directors.
“For us, DuMont unites media culture and values with the innovative power of digital transformation and is, therefore, a natural partner for us. The strategic commitment to the media group gives us additional strength to expand our innovative censhare solutions worldwide. For companies in transition, it is important to centrally manage media data, product information, and content in order to stay in touch with their digital community, “said Dieter Reichert.
Dr. Christoph Bauer, Chairman of the Management Board of DuMont Mediengruppe: “After the commitment to Facelift, the participation in censhare is now a further important step for the expansion of our digital business. This makes DuMont an attractive provider of marketing cloud services”. At the end of the year, DuMont had already taken over 75 percent of Facelift brand building technologies GmbH, one of the leading providers of social media marketing software in Europe.
The acquisition is subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities.
