The DuMont Media Group acquires 36.5% of censhare AG
censhare AG, today announced the completion of a significant growth equity investment from DuMont Media Group, one of Germany’s oldest and largest media companies.
The DuMont Media Group invests in the Munich-based censhare AG, a technology-leading provider of marketing cloud services, and in a first step assumes 36.5 percent of the shares.
Founded in 2001, censhare is already recognized by industry analysts as a significant vendor in the European software market, having gained an impressive portfolio of close to 200 clients, that includes Ikea, Deutsche Bank, Jaguar Land Rover, McDonald‘s, Swiss Re, Deutsche Post, Rewe, Migros, GoPro and Kohl‘s. Based on innovative semantic technology, censhare is considered the ‘go to’ vendor for efficiently delivering relevant, multi-channel, multi-language customer experiences with its no-silo content platform.
Censhare, with around 200 employees, has offices in the UK, USA, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and India.

The three founders – Dieter Reichert (CEO), Robert Motzke (CPO), Walter Bauer (CTO) – will continue to lead the company, while Stephan Wehselau (CFO) will join the board of directors.

At the end of the year, DuMont had already taken over 75 percent of Facelift brand building technologies GmbH, one of the leading providers of social media marketing software in Europe.
The acquisition is subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities.
