Forget about the business plan!
Wouldn’t it be fantastic if we could run our businesses without business plans?
If you are a startup then you are in search of a scalable business model. As long as you are searching for a viable and scalable business model, there is no point in writing business plans. This point of view is presented by Steve Blank in his new book:
The Startup Owner’s Manual: The Step-By-Step Guide for Building a Great Company
Although conventional wisdom, investors and consultants are asking for business plans, I do believe that Steve Blank has a valid point. Rather than spending time guessing how to execute a business model, which is not yet in place, you may be better off spending your time talking to customers.
