Compuware acquires dynaTrace software
Compuware Corp. (CPWR) has acquired dynaTrace software, a privately held Austrian software company based in Linz, for $256 million in cash.
DynaTrace was founded in 2005 and is maker of application performance management tools. The dynaTrace software AP Management approach tightly knits User Experience Management, Business Transaction Management, Advanced Monitoring and Code-level Diagnostics into a single system, valued across the entire application lifecycle – by business and application owners, production operators, performance testers, software architects and engineering management.
The deal comes after Compuware co-founder Peter Karmanos gave up the chief executive post last month to President Bob Paul, a move some analysts considered another major step in transforming the company’s focus on newer emerging-growth opportunities.
DynaTrace, which has 180 employees, had trailing 12 month revenue of $26 million.
The dynaTrace platform is the industry’s leading solution for optimizing the performance, availability and quality of web, non-web, mobile, streaming and cloud applications.
