Milestone Systems (Brøndby, Denmark), launched several new products and announced achievement awards at its annual conference held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on February 12-14, 2012.

A record turnout of Milestones partners attended the event this year which also hosted an impressive showcase of exhibitions by solutions providers and manufacturers including Milestone’s platinum sponsors Axis Communications and Sony.

The symposium announced the arrival of new applications for Xprotect VMS.

A live webcast presented Xprotect Smart Client 7 with its sharp new look and choice of themes designed for different working environments. This version offers greater flexibility in monitoring and recording with advanced synchronisation capabilities. Superior camera targeting and isolation as well as better alarm features make Xprotect Smart Client 7 another gold class product for Milestone.

Also launched was an XProtect version designed for multi-site installation with a much greater capacity than ever before. Xprotect Corporate 5 is sustained by powerful 64-bit recording servers and an enhanced memory capacity, allowing for a potentially unlimited number of cameras to be supported. This upgrade includes superior remote connectivity and extended edge storage for flexible data retrieval.

At the compact end of the scale, XProtect® Mobile 1.0 iOS video management software is now compatible for use with Apple iPod® Touch, iPhone® or iPad® in addition to the existing Android support.

For medium sized business there’s the ready-to-use XProtect® NVR for up to eight or 16 surveillance cameras. It has an easy to use preconfigured interface which can integrate third party applications and supports Network Attached Storage making it ideal for retail chains requiring analytics or access control.

CEO Lars Thinggard spoke about the trends effecting the industry, not only concerning the provision of multimedia security solutions but in the broader context of risk management and identitying opportunitities for development. Milestone professionals presented strategies and alternatives for broadening results via Milestone’s open platform products. Martin Gren, Co-Founder of Axis Communications, and Mark Collett, General Manager of Sony were guest speakers. Workshops were available with Iomnis Surveillance, Hewlett-Packard, Arecont Vision and Razberi Technologies.

Among the many awards given by Milestone to its collaborators this year was Distributor of the Year to Anixter, further cemeting their alliance with Milestone. Long term partner Hewlett Packard received Milestone Technology Partner of the Year.

Camera Manufacturer Partner of the Year went to Arecont Vision whose cameras are commonly complementing Milestone installations. Rimage received an award for their innovative disc publishing for video content export and archiving, popular especially in the government sector.

For the second year in a row National Partner of the Year was awarded to Johnson Controls. Strong business growth in North and South America is largely credited to Johnson Controls stragegic focus and commitment. SecureNet received Regional Partner of the Year and Development Partner of the Year was awarded to Open Options, Inc., whose cooperative and enthusiastic working relationship was applauded.
