IBM to acquire Vivisimo
IBM have announced its intent to acquire Vivisimo, a recognized leader in federated discovery and navigation software for big data. The acquisition aims to accelerate IBM’s efforts to help clients integrate, navigate, and analyze the full variety, velocity and volume of big data.
Vivisimo brings a decade of experience and innovation in data navigation and visualization technologies for both structured and unstructured data, making it easier for business users to get value from all of their data. Founded in 2000, Vivisimo is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with offices in Virginia, the UK and France and has 120 employees worldwide.
Vivisimo will join IBM’s big data portfolio within Information Management led by Arvind Krishna, General Manager.
